Bridgeport woman holds holiday food, clothing and gift giveaway for community that helped her after housefire

The Bridgeport woman, whose home burned down more than a decade ago, is paying in advance this holiday season with giveaways to the community that helped her rebuild.

“God has really blessed me since I’ve been here,” said Hollister Avenue resident Gloria Brown.

Over a decade ago, the community came to her rescue and helped rebuild her home when it burned down. Now she wants the giveaway to show her appreciation.

“The more you give, the more you don’t always receive, but if you give wholeheartedly, God will come back and bless you. It may not be money, it may not be clothing. But, It’s possible. Be healthy,” she said.

Brown says ensuring the health and well-being of the communities she serves is a primary goal of her holiday gifts.

“It’s cold here today, so we’re trying to help the community by rewarding them and giving them something to keep them warm,” she said. ”
