Christian Siriano is ready for a new take on the beloved ‘naked’ fashion trend.

He told the insider that instead of a beaded sheer dress, he wanted to see “understated elegance.”

Siriano also said she thinks “covered up” looks can be “sexy” as well.
Sheer fashion is bigger than the typical trend, something of a rite of passage on the red carpet.
An insider spoke with the designer at a recent holiday party in New York City. Asked about style trends for 2023, Siriano said she hopes to see more “understated elegance” in fashion.
But to do so, we may have to say goodbye to the sheer, beaded dresses we’ve grown accustomed to.
“There was something pure and sexy good bye But we’ve seen it,” he said.
Siriano doesn’t want see-through gowns and outfits to disappear entirely.
The bright red ensemble worn by Janelle Monáe at the premiere of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” and the sheer gown worn by Jodie Turner-Smith at this year’s Albee Awards, both designed by Siriano.
Instead, Siriano is concerned with reinterpreting trends to “celebrate silhouettes.”
“It doesn’t always mean you have to be sheer or naked or anything like that,” he said. It can get pretty sexy.”
On why the sheer look remains popular, Siriano says it’s contributed to the difficult years since the pandemic.
“I think everyone is kind of torn,” he said. “At the beginning of the year, we were like, ‘What’s going on? Are we still athleisure or are we in the 2000s? I was like, are you doing this?”
But now, according to Siriano, heading into 2023, there’s a chance he’s already seeing a “return to glamour.”
“People are throwing away beautiful jackets and great heels. I’ve seen that a lot and I love it,” he said. .”
