COLUMBIA, S.C. (Wisconsin) – The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office reports that a body was found in Rugoff’s donation box.

Kershaw County Coroner David West said a woman’s body was found in a clothing donation box between the Lugoff Toyota and the Camden West Inn around 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31.

West added that there was no indication of how the woman died, and that she had been in a trash can for months and that her body was “virtually mummified.”

West said an autopsy is scheduled for this Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.

He initially thought the woman might be someone who had used the collection bin as a refuge from the recent cold weather, but realized that the body was so decomposed that it was not someone who died recently. rice field.

“The donation box probably hasn’t been emptied in years,” West added.
