For many, Chanukah (Festival of Lights) serves to bring back happy childhood memories and a renewed sense of identity. Chanukah lights provide warmth, joy, strength and inspiration. This is the purpose of the community-wide menorah lighting celebration.

Fashion Island joined the Shabad Jewish Living Center in Newport Beach to celebrate the Festival of Lights at the Menorah Lighting ceremony held on Sunday, December 18th at Fashion Island’s Atrium Garden Court.

The celebration began with a holiday musical performance by Los Judios Rocos and concluded with a spectacular menorah lighting ceremony by Rabbi Ruben Mintz of the Chabad Center and Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley. of supervisor.

Menorah Lighting attendees enjoyed holiday gifts and treats, Hanukkah crafts, face painting, and balloon animals. Attendees were encouraged to bring gifts for community toy drives and distribution to children in need, making it a fitting holiday for these children.

The eternal celebration of Hanukkah is highlighted by the lighting of the menorah each night of the holiday.
