Limb Kind Foundation fashion show raises $50K to get prosthetics to people in need

The Limb Kind Foundation put on an adaptive fashion show at Atlantic Beach.

The “Show Your Shine” event was organized to help provide prosthetic limbs to people in third world countries.

One participant was 9-year-old Solan Weakly, who lost a leg at age 3 to a rare bone tumor.

“It was amazing. It was a lot of fun. You got to do a lot of spins and do whatever you want,” she said.

“It’s just amazing to see her so free and so happy. Probably one of my favorite nights in a long time,” said mother Shay Weekly.

“Most of the kids we give prosthetic legs have never had a prosthetic leg in their lives or wear something that doesn’t really fit them,” he said.

The show has raised over $50,000 to support the Lim Kind Foundation’s outreach and future travels.
