HOWELL — Brandy Wimmer says he has a passion for fashion, interior design, and finding bargains.
Now, Wimmer is preparing to open The Garment District Resale, a consignment store for women’s clothing, furniture and home décor at 120 N. Michigan Ave. We want to help you find your design aesthetic. Reasonably priced.
“I love going to resale stores. I love bargains. I feel like I’m doing just a little bit of being waste conscious by reusing nice clothes,” says Marion Towne. Said Wimmer, who lives in Shipp.
“It’s shocking to see waste in clothes,” she said.
Some may know Wimmer as a seller at the Livingston Antiques Outlet in Howell Township. She has worked there for many years, where she rents a space where she sells furniture and clothing.
She also worked as a social worker for Love in the Name of Christ in the Greater Livingston area, known as LOVE Inc. various churches and other organizations.
She said she dreamed of opening her own store, and it all came together quickly after a space in Howell’s downtown became available.
“I’ve talked to my husband about it. Time moves on. It’s now or never,” said Wimmer, 52.

She said she wanted to create a social and fun atmosphere.
“I don’t want it to be stuffy. I want it to have music and serve coffee,” she said.
She accepts designer items but wants her store to be affordable.
“We want to make it really affordable for everyone’s pocketbook,” she said.
She said she thought Howell was the right place for her store.
“Over the last few years, Howell has become a shopping destination,” she said.
She said she’s excited to see what shippers bring.
“Let’s see what comes in. Will it be more standard, or will it bring in some vintage stuff?” she said.
