Residents looking for clothing to keep their children warm need not look far.
The Packard Court Community Center will be hosting its first ever Winter Wear Drive to collect a variety of undergarments for kids ages 5-13.
Undershirts, underwear, mufflers, and socks must be in new condition. Donations will be accepted until December 21st. Donate or pick up at the center at 4300 Pine Ave. if needed.
Samika Sullivan, director of the center, said traditionally there are many drives in gloves and hats this time of year. Socks are often wet.
“We just saw a need based on the children coming to the center,” Sullivan said.
During the center’s Kwanzaa event on December 21, a table will be set up where families can get the clothes they need. The rest of the clothing is available at the Center and her Doris W. Jones Family Resource Building at 3001 9th Street.
Call the Center at 716-278-0228 for more information.
