Three years in the making, Palm Beach-based Steel American Luxury brings together technology and fashion on a global scale.
Steele, which launched last month, is the world’s first and only “phygital” luxury accessories brand to combine blockchain technology with luxury goods, said founder and CEO Nicole Steele.
Steel American Luxury offers a fully handcrafted collection of handbags and accessories in fine leather and exotic skins. With each purchase, customers gain access to her Web3 technology, unique to the brand, enabling digital verification of authenticity and provenance.

All items in the Steel collection are registered on the Polygon blockchain and include a branded digital authentication card that can be downloaded to your Apple Wallet or Android Passkits.
A digital identity card, called Steel Passport, is also a way for collectors to connect with brands and partners through IRL (in-life) or digital events, Steel said.

Palm Beach was a major source of inspiration in her creative process, says Steele.
Handmade and sewn by skilled Swiss leather craftsmen, the steel handbag is lined in the brand’s signature steel pink. Steele said the color, which is also featured on the brand’s SmrtKuff watch band lining, was inspired by her life on the beach.
“Palm Beach has been a big inspiration for me when it comes to design, not just because I travel around the world, but because it has such a big impact on my life,” said Steele. “I fly between Palm Beach, Winnetka, Illinois, Zurich, Paris and New York. These are my work hubs.”
Steel American Luxury was created after a long development process, says Steel, and she’s thrilled that her vision has finally become a reality. available in select boutiques and modern art galleries around the world later this year.
“It’s been a complicated and long road,” Steele said. “I am really happy to bring the highest level of craftsmanship and materials to the world. It has been a very challenging three years for him and I am very happy to be here.”

Available in two styles, the SmrtKuff is a band for smartwatches that translates the technical utility of the watch into points of style, says Steel.
