Rihanna was one of the most anticipated guests at the Golden Globes last night, which marked the 80th anniversary of the awards ceremony, but she wasn’t particularly present on the red carpet.
The singer received her first Golden Globe nomination for her song “Lift Me Up.” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever The soundtrack opted to skip the red carpet, instead making a more low-key entrance with boyfriend A$AP Rocky. and managed to avoid the paparazzi photographers outside and took a seat.
However, the star has gone high-octane when it comes to her fashion choices. She arrived wearing her couture gown by Schiaparelli in a dramatic black. The gown featured a corseted and ruffled dress with huge velvet sleeves that cascaded down the train. She had her hair in a center part, neatly twisted and with warm, glossy makeup. Her glittering diamond jewelry, strappy black sandals, and velvet opera her gloves completed her scene-stealing look.
Naturally, her presence at the ceremony did not go unnoticed, and she received several shout-outs during the show, including the night’s host, Jerrod Carmichael.
“I’m going to say something very controversial,” he joked.
Unfortunately, Rihanna didn’t leave the ceremony to the winner. She had been nominated alongside the likes of Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, but her Best Original Song award went instead to Chandra Bose and MM Keeravani for the film’s “Naatu Naatu.” RRROther winners of the night were Austin Butler, who won Best Actor.
