Saltillo, Mississippi (WTVA) – Local teens work hard to make sure everyone has clothes on their backs and shoes on their feet.
Mayfield Christ Church held its second annual clothing giveaway today. Organizer Carson Miller said this was an opportunity to help those in need.
The giveaway started last year when a 15-year-old boy realized he had a lot of clothes in his closet that he had never worn and realized he could use them to meet a need in his community.
“Sometimes you don’t want to give it to Goodwill,” Carson said. “That’s why I thought I’d start a clothing giveaway.”
Volunteers who help drive say it’s rewarding to see people dress up for success.
Last year, the church distributed clothes to 75 families, and this year we have doubled that number.
All clothing not distributed to local communities will be packed and sent to Ukraine.
