According to the Kathmandu Post, Kalpana Sunar was doing laundry in her front yard when she saw a plane falling from the sky heading towards her.
“The aircraft tilted at an unusual angle and shortly afterwards we heard a bomb-like explosion,” she said.
“Then we saw black smoke rising from the Seti gorge,” she added.
One of the plane’s wings hit the ground about 12 meters from the home of local resident Geeta Sunar.

“If the plane had landed near our house, the settlement would have been destroyed,” said Sunal, who miraculously escaped, the newspaper reported.

Children who witnessed the incident said they could hear passengers screaming from inside the plane as it plummeted out of the sky in a spiral.
Samir and Prajwal Pariyar, two 11-year-olds, initially thought the plane was a toy, but fled when approached.
“Suddenly, the area was dark with smoke,” Samir said, adding, “It looked like the tires of the crashed plane were touching us.”
Another eyewitness, Bainsha Bahadur BK, said that if the plane had flown straight, it would have crash-landed in the village and caused more damage.
“About seven or eight of the plane’s windows were still intact, and we suspected the passengers were still alive,” the newspaper said.
“But as we watched in horror, the fire spread to the other half of the plane in an instant,” he added.
