Will the Fashion-Challenged Hero Return to the Big Screen?

The comeback that no one wants, but secretly wants.

It’s been almost 20 years since the first Zoolander movie hit the silver screen, and fans of the iconic comedy are wondering if there will ever be a third installment. Actress Christine Taylor, who played Matilda Jeffries in her first two films, recently expressed her thoughts on the matter: yes!insider.

Interest in Zoolander seems to be cyclical, according to Taylor, with fans rediscovering the film every 10 to 15 years.

The first film was released shortly after 9/11 and did poorly at the box office, but gained a cult following in the years that followed. Similarly, the second film, Zoolander 2, wasn’t a huge success when it came out in 2016, but fans have been hooked ever since.

Taylor goes on to suggest that the success of the Zoolander franchise may be a “slow burn” and that a third film could be ahead of its time.

Regarding the possibility of a Zoolander 3, Taylor said, “I don’t know if there will be a Zoolander 3 in the near future.” But she also adds that “Zoolander will always live on.” So the fans most excited about the third movie are those who grew up on her first two films.

So any chance of a Zoolander 3 in the future? Hard to say. The film’s fanbase may be dedicated and passionate, but the box office performance of his first two films doesn’t necessarily indicate a strong demand for his third. However, as Taylor points out, interest in the franchise seems to be cyclical, so perhaps in a few more years fans will be asking for Zoolander again.
